I doubt that a device used for constant annotations, cross-referencing, note taking, etc. would get "weeks" of battery life. Please consider posts in context; JSWolf is speaking of the educational market, not of general novel reading, and nothing in his post is "American" vs. your own no doubt vastly superior culture.
