Lightbulb Indicator LED meaning

Reading posts here in the forum the topic of what the colors, blinking, etc. of the LEDs mean comes up from time to time. Thought it was about time there was a single thread dedicated to pinning down the discussion in a single place.

The only place I have found on the Kobo.com site that even mentions the LED meaning for the KT is in the FAQ and it wasn't too helpful:

Quote:
What does the green light on my Kobo eReader Touch mean?
Lights on the Kobo eReader Touch

There are a few different light colours that come with the Touch:
Green - the eReader is plugged in.
Blue - the eReader is turning on.
Flashing multicolour - the eReader is restoring to factory defaults.
Anyone want to add with their ideas backed with experience?
