aha, you would be correct ! i confirm, i am not canadian. chauffer = to drive... ok, why not ? it makes sense actually. que fait un chauffeur de taxi ? il chauffe. (why else would you call them that, right ?) heh heh, that's really funny though, now i have images of people standing around a taxi driver, holding out their hands to warm them up... yeh i would look at someone funny too if they asked me to warm them up... depending on how well i know them...
