Before going to bed last night, I noticed the rice cooker was just about empty and wanted to make some fresh rice for our breakfast. I pressed the little button on the rice dispenser twice to make four cups of rice. This morning I woke up to rice soup!

Apparently, the little plastic 'anti-bug' device had detached itself from the side of the dispenser and fallen into the hopper. This prevented about half a cup of dry rice from coming down the chute, so when I added the proper amount of water for 4 cups, but only in fact having 3.5 cups, the cooker turned it into rice porridge!

O.K... not the end of the world, and with some stronger tasting goodies to top it off with, made a decent breakfast, but definitely NOT something I prefer to eat unless I have the flu!

Certainly a case of 'modern conveniences not being very convenient!' Had I measured the rice by hand I would have noticed the problem.
