Although I should emphasize that's nothing against people who prefer A6. I think that's really understandable. I know, for me, I'm a control freak and I like being able to set my own cover (with the help of my hired artist), do my own edits (with the help of my hired editor), upload on my own time (without having to wait to hear from the publisher when they will publish), write at my own fast pace (without having to space out release), and write in whatever genre takes me (without being pigeon-holed). But I understand not everyone is me.
I would probably get more exposure as an A6, but I feel like it would be a trade-off. I could get into libraries! ...if they paid $30 a license for my book. My ebooks could be marketed on Amazon and GoodReads! ...but the readers would have to pay $10 to read me. I probably wouldn't be able to hand out free promotional copies willy-nilly, nor set a 100% preview to read online. I care about those things.
But, yeah, it makes me sad that (so far) I can't get into libraries and I can't make a GoodReads Giveaway.
