They did. Of course they weren't a Hollywood mogul offering offering dinner in a Corfu villa to this serial fraudster and liar so they probably didn't expect to be able to change Mandelson's mind. Now if it had been the News of the World offering him a bribe, then they may have had more luck. Of course it's nice to see that Brit politicians can be just as corrupt as Yank ones can.
