I find the scribbling feature reasonably functional. While writing you have to press quite hard to make sure most of the gestures are recognized.
Some things i found problematic:
1) Even if you press hard sometimes the device ceases to respond for a second and thus misses some strokes. Maybe the processor is not able to keep up? I've heard there was such an issue with the EEE Note which was later resolved somehow.
2) If you turn the device on its side ("landscape mode") there is a significant distance between the point of input and output on the screen with a "upward bias". Maybe bad calibration?
3) You cannot change when the scribbles are being saved to the "table of contents". The process of saving could result in a break in the flow of ones work.
4) no integration of the scribbles in the PDF itself (a feature existing on the ONYX M92)
What i see as a positive thing is that at least most of the gestures are recognized provided you apply enough pressure and rewrite the letters missed during the short freezes I mentioned in 1).
If these issues are addressed, this would become quite some device
