As far as the Kobo for navigation, I would suggest crossing it off your list at this point in time. From my experience, it has some nasty bugs that can make navigation very tedious (long/infinite delays, "stored" taps leading to unwanted page turns, ...)

For navigation it has:

Table of contents
A slider for navigation to a particular page #
Bookmarks (annotations)
