Ruff's concept sounds interesting, but from some of the buzz I've been hearing, his writing may not be equally as interesting or provocative as his premise. I'll still probably check it out sometime.
Buckell's been largely hit or miss with me—mostly miss. Just like John Scalzi (where "The Big Idea" originates), I consider Buckell more of a blogger than anything: it's fun to read their posts, ideas and shorts, but their novel-length stuff leaves a lot to be desired (with the exception of Scalzi's Old Man's War).
