I just tried using Kindle for Mac 1.9.1, and it exhibits the same behavior as the Fire. Perhaps "notes" are implemented differently on the Fire and the Kindle apps than they are on the K2? Whatever the reason, the result is a book that works on some Kindle platforms but not others.

It must have something to do with the way in which your book (Bible) is formatted -- the Fire does not behave differently. I do not have any problem with viewing footnotes. When I touch the blue link the associated footnote appears.
