I remove DRM as the first step whenever I buy a new book. I'm not interested in having my ability to use something I have purchased stripped away from me when a company changes their mind about supporting their own DRM, or goes out of business. I've been burned before.

I'm also not interested in a company dictating to me that I have to read on their hardware/software platform. Electronic devices are fragile and software changes.
