The CPen appears to be a USB connectable optical character recognition peripheral used on a lot of the Ectaco translators and at least one of the other eReaders (the K-12). There's a video here that shows it in use: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XIGBI1HXAo#t=12m04s

Edited to add: It just occurred to me - if the CPen is intelligent itself and just acting like a USB keyboard, that opens up the possibility of plugging in a real keyboard! At the very least it shows the jetBook Color (and K-12) have USB host capability.
