I can understand coding for fun, more power t'ye.

I've actually had a bad history w/ using a blanket ~x86 flag. Had a bad emerge and ended up with a dead system (this was about 5 years ago though). I've found it safer in the long run to do it case-by-case (I only run it on my work laptop, I can't trash it). I do realize that developer tools are pretty slow to migrate to stable, but applications tend to actually be pretty up-to-date with a month or so of testing.

If I get some time, I'll see if I can test the utilities and get the ebuild marked to ~x86.
