Possibly, some people will share them without checking the metadata & whatever's used for watermarking, so they'll be tracked down. Lawsuits may occur, but it's not particularly likely. I'd expect a lot of C&D letters to be thrown around, though.

Why would there be author's notes & intro stuff in a book for children? When I was young that was the stuff I skipped.
And if there's nothing added I don't really see a reason to upload them. Everybody who pirates and wanted to read the ebooks already has them.
