Sony Reader for PC has suddenly stopped recognizing my T1. I think it happened after I had to do a soft reset when a book froze the reader. Calibre has no problem recognizing the reader.

An additional problem is when I close Reader for PC it does not actually close completely. I need to use the Task Manager to end the process before I can safely remove the reader from the USB.

I've uninstalled the software, rebooted, and reinstalled the software.

I've tried all the steps suggested here:

I've tried everything suggested on the Sony support site except a hard reset, including uninstalling and reinstalling the USB driver.

Any other suggestions before I try a hard reset? I would just forget about it but I need (or at least want) to download library books using the wireless capability (the main reason I chose the T1). I use calibre for everything else.

I'm also concerned that a hard reset won't fix the problem of the software not closing properly so I will still have that issue to deal with and I don't have a clue where to even start looking for the problem.

Update:
I've solved part of the problem. I accessed the Reader Store wirelessly (first time I tried that) and was automatically reauthorized to the public library. So now I can download library books again.

I don't know what to do about the software not closing properly. Any suggestions?
