Home button didn't help either and I didn't try fonts as LuvReadin has suggested.

Since after reboot the book was shown properly, it's probably not the problem in the epub itself. And it was opened correctly from the PC.
Yup, I've seen the same prob plenty of times. Reopening or font changing usually helps but can also crash the reader. Restarting the reader always works, but doesn't guarantee the prob won't happen again in the affected ebook.

For the sake of argument, I'm gonna be a bit circumspect:

Let's asume there are two types of eBooks, those aquired in the "public donain" and retail eBooks. With the later, I've had no problems at all. Even if I aquired them at the same kind of "place" as the former. The former, however show obvious signs of totally inconsistent formating(which shouldn't surprise anyone, thanks to all the options calibre or sigil offer).

I use Calibre too. What's helped me is:
In the "Common Options" of "Conversion": "Filter Style Information" check "Fonts", "Padding" and "Margins"
I go on to add an "Extra CSS", but that's for my own font preference.

You gotta convert the original ePub, obviously, and excange the old one on the reader.

Anyway, since then I've not had any probs with the converted books. Anything new that comes on my reader is converted.

For the affected stuff still on the device: it's not worth the hassle.
