I've had a similar thing happen. I've purchased two books lately (Storm Front and The Young Hornblower Omnibus) that when I sideloaded the epubs using ADE got a generic cover (Storm Front said just that and the author while The Young Hornblower Omnibus had the Penguin logo). I deleted them and downloaded the kepubs over wifi and voila they have covers. Makes no sense to me.
