Received my silicone skin yesterday, here are my impressions.

Pros:
  • easy as pie to "install", it slips right over the ereader.
  • provides very minor cushion to the ereader.
  • fits like a glove but gives full access to the buttons, ports and power button on the bottom, and the card slot on the back.
  • provides a very nice non-slip grip to the ereader.

Cons:
  • Lint magnet! Though the shiny bezel was a fingerprint magnet, so...
  • Adds a couple ounces of weight to the ereader, but even with the skin on my T1 is still lighter than my old 600.
  • Since it's non-slip, it won't slide into the neoprene sleeve that I saved from my old 600. (Not really an issue for those not using a sleeve, and as I ordered a case it will only be an issue for me for a couple days).

I'm fairly certain the back could be cut away as mentioned earlier, but I have no desire to do so.

edit: Another pro: I frequently hold my ereader by the upper right corner between my index and middle fingers. Without the skin my index finger often triggers the dog-ear page function, but with the skin on my finger wasn't accidently brushing the screen.
