I'll be testing my eyes/kindle out with the sans-serif font as well as larger sizes to see if those fix it, but I wanted to see if this was a common or at least a recognized problem.

It happens to me all the time for some reason. My eye doc suggested frequent breaks and just focus on something in the distance, not necessary to take more than a few seconds. It does help, but not a s much as I would like.
