I don't understand how changing Sigil would be better than just leaving it out of the template in the first place. Why would you want a button change the identifier or take a chance that it might remain the same if you forgot. IMHO leaving it out of the template is the more elegant solution. Of course you could manually edit the opf file I suppose. Maybe Sigil could offer a template save option that would extract a template from the epub that is loaded. Basically use the CSS and dummy xhtml page and a dummy opf.
