It looks like they figured this out now, and if you use the Citibank "virtual" card number or Discover Card's one-time-use cards, eReader will recognize it and reject the purchase. Nice.

Now their intentions are much more clear, it isn't about giving you product in exchange for the required funds to purchase it, its about locking you into a specific card for your reading materials. Unfortunately for them, one-time-use cards and virtual credit card numbers are going to be the norm soon, not the exception. If they don't want to evolve with the progress of security and technology, then they lose.
