@dacarlson Thank you for you list of other" factors"
they are some of the things I think some have not mentioned when reporting their particular problems
.
Just wild speculation here but another cause I suspect is a combo of Gowidgets that constantly try to stay connected to the web and leaving your Wifi setting to "on" at all times.
I personally rarely use My Kindle Fire for internet access at all
as I find the the browsing experience ( even with dolphin HD) is less than satisfactory.
I only switch it on whenever I pop over to my local community college to use their free public wifi to download a purchased app from amazon
also I have NO widgets on my home screen thus leave my Wifi off most of the time (99.9%).

Wow, that speculation is pretty wild. My group that had problems with alt. launchers had no widgets. I'm sure they don't even know what they are. I had no widgets when mine got bricked. Some in my clinic left their wifi on, some didn't. That really shouldn't be a problem. Mine is on all the time just like my computer's wifi is always on. Most people who have computers don't turn their connectivity on and off all the time, not since the days of dial up. I don't expect to come down in the morning and find my computer bricked because my wifi was on all night.
If you are going to the local community college just to download an app from Amazon, your use is way outside the norm and pretty much has no relationship to the average user here. You might want to think of that before you jump all over someone else.
