well, since french puts adjectives after the nouns they modify (clients débiles, appels stupides, questions bêtes...) you can pretty easily specify which noun exactly of the sentence you are modifying.
un coup de fil débile d'un client = a stupid phone call from a client
un coup de fil d'un client débile = a phone call from a stupid client
un coup de fil débile d'un client débile = a stupid phone call from a stupid client
sadly, i am frequently plagued by this problem in all its intricate and multi-form variety.
