I went to the eBookMall website, and in the Adobe section of the FAQ, it says:

Quote:
Q: Do your Adobe eBooks work on the Sony Reader?
A: Sony Readers can read regular PDF files, but not digitally secure Adobe eBooks. The Sony Reader may be integrated into Adobe's eBook system at some point, but it has not been so far. Because of that, most of the Adobe eBooks at eBookMall are not compatible with the Sony Reader. However, all of the Adobe eBooks included in our eBook Club can be used on the Sony Reader. Find out more about the eBook Club here.

You can always check on this by looking at the "Platforms" list for each eBook. Look to the right of the cover image, near the middle of the page, where it says "Platforms: Windows Vista / XP / 2000, Mac OS Tiger". If/when the Sony Reader can read our Adobe eBooks, we will add it to that list.
I do know that the 505 can read regular, unsecured .pdfs, but the Adobe eBooks that are usually sold online, from what I've seen so far, are almost always secured with DRM and won't work.
