Book, Song, DVD - Yes, or at least, not in the last 5 years or so.

I'm still fascinated to find out the details of this research as the only ones I know about were done about music and were small sample surveys (a few thousand people, normally students)
I also wonder about how the surveys were done :-
Do you pirate music? - Yes
Do you buy music? - Err, yeah, loads

My main problem with the surveys is the reasons people normally give here on MR for downloading things without paying that seem to be :-
-The publisher prices it too high and I won't pay that (Definitely not getting more money from these people)
-I can't get it in my region (I'm willing to call this one a no score draw, although it would probably be released sooner or later)
-It's got DRM on it, Wahhh (Tough, remove the DRM after buying it)

And even some of these surveys show that some people stopped buying as much music after they started using torrents.
eg
http://paidcontent.co.uk/article/419...o-music-sales/
From the article
"—But be wary: though 47 percent of filesharers buy the same amount as they used to, 19 percent either buy a little or a lot less as a result."
This article states that 33% or respondends used torrent sites
Of these

This means that
26% spend a little or lot more on music
47% spendthe same
19% spend a little or lot less
7-8% Spend nothing on music (Taken from the rest adding up to 92% and the quote "—93 percent of filesharers say they have paid for music in the past year."

This means that even this survey quoted as showing it does no harm to sales say that a quarter of people using torrents spend less to nothing on music than they used to.
