I created my book in Word, saved as "filtered html" and then fine-edited it in Sigil. So far so good - it looks great in Sigil.

I then imported it into Calibre and the "view" option shows my book formatted perfectly. However, when I convert to .mobi (for kindle publishing) the formatting goes somewhat awry:

Intentional blank lines are removed leaving the paragraphs squashed together.

Example:
----

Part 1: Leaving

James

James Pendle had decided that enough was enough.......
---

is converted to:
----
Part 1: Leaving
James
James Pendle had decided that enough was enough.......
---

I want to preserve the blank lines. How do I do this?

For what its worth, I also converted to ".lit" and viewed the result with the Microsoft Reader and the blank lines were preserved.

Thanks in advance - Adam
Check your Mobi Output options settings: (Not) Ignore Margins If you do as I do, use top and bottom margins between paragraphs instead of an extra   only paragraph
