It was weird to see the ebook industry move on from the old formats to epubs, but change and progress are the name of the game today. I have calibre so I can convert most of my old ebooks except the drm ones anyway.
One good thing about the new popularity of ebooks is that now I can shop at Amazon or Fictionwise only for ebooks whereas back in the day I shopped at all kinds of little epublishers; and some of them were fly by night operations that would just close up shop and leave customers and authors hanging. I even had my credit card info stolen from one of those little epublishers once.
(Didn't stop my ebook addiction though.)
Anyway with the entry of the Kindle my little secret passion that nobody understood is now mainstream which is a good thing. Ebook prices are going down thanks to Amazon and there are far more choices than ever before.
