I remember years ago there were a pair of wedge-tails nesting on a skyscraper in Melbourne. We used to watch them through someone's binoculars - amazing!
We had a smaller eagle actually take a pigeon right in our garden one day (and this in an inner suburb of Adelaide). Just swooped down and plucked him off a railing. I am not sure of the type as he moved so fast and left us so surprised!
As for the weather - hot and fairly humid all week but no actual rain.
