I once loaned Robert Silverburg my pocket guide at ChiCon V. I was walking down the hall and someone behind me said, "Can I borrow your pocket guide for a moment?"

I turned around and blurted out, "Holy shit! You're Robert Silberburg!"

He replied, "Most of the time. Right now, I'm late for my next panel and don't know where it is supposed to be."
