It doesn't matter what the reason is, if you actually drain the battery even once then you can start crystallisation which is permanent damage to the battery... if you don't believe it then google technical info on LiOn and Li-Polymer batteries... the inventors and manufacturers are quite specific about this...
And unless you work really hard on it, you will find that your laptop full drain is NOT a full drain as the electronics in the batteries are designed to stop this happening... of course if you're determined and take the battery down to minimum charge then leave it without recharging then you can take it lower but this is NOT recommended by the battery manufacturers...
