I love my Kindle Keyboard and wouldn't give it up for anything.

But my husband's iPad is pretty neat too.

The Kindle carries hundreds of books in a small light package that doesn't strain mye eyes--very useful when I went to visit family for Christmas.

But the iPad could take pictures of all our D&D docs and save us shipping *pounds* of books for gaming.

The Kindle (3G) served as a point of contact for the internet when our DSL went down and our wifi was useless (only the Kindle Keyboard will do this, which is why I don't have a Touch).

But the iPad has an app for writing sheet music and playing it back to be sure you've got it right. And is much more responsive for web surfing when the wifi is working, which is most of the time.

I love them both.
