I don't know the origin of this problem, but here's how it shows up in the epub file converted by Calibre from an azw original.

Block quotes are formatted using the same css class (calibre10) as is used for footnote marker numbers and footnote text, as I discovered when I increased the size of the text and applied left-padding.

It may simply be that the original azw file did the same thing. I would like to have such text in almost normal size and offset.
