I just got my first e-reader, a Nook Simple Touch, and am reading my first book, The Telepathist by John Brunner, which I got off arthursbookshelf. I have been reading mysteries in order for the past number of years (Jance, Delaney, Bland, Box, Bowen, Arnaldur, Crombie, Cotterill, Stabenow, Block, Spencer-Fleming, Perry, Grafton, Doss, Hillerman, Barr, Andrews, Spencer, Curzon, Mayor, .....organized through stopyourkillingme.com), but used to read a fair amount of science fiction. I liked Brunner, Asimov, Clarke, but my two favorite books were, I think, the only ones I read by those authors: Ringworld and The Mote in God'e Eye. I see a number of sites purporting to offer free e-book downloads. I'll have to see which sites are good and which not.
