Another "no, never" for e-books.
If I like the author enough and want to read their book that much to pay a $20+ cost, I will simply buy the hardcover, which is exactly what I do for the handful of authors whose books I already value enough to pre-order in paper versions.
I would hypothetically be willing to pay $20+ for a good specialty non-fiction release, but the formatting and accessibility of most non-fiction e-books are ill-suited to representing the subject matter, so that's another "paper book represents better value-for-money at that price" situation.
