Wanting to read a new release immediately is the only reason I'd pay full hardcover price for an ebook. Luckily, I'm not forced into that situation very often (the ebook is invariably cheaper than the physical book upon release in my neck 'o the woods).

I like bargains... but I perceive no difference in the value of physical books vs ebooks. I didn't re-sell, fondle, sniff, stare longingly at, display, or even gauge the heft of my physical books before I started buying ebooks. I buy words I like to read by authors who string them together in a manner that I find pleasing.
