I'm using my HTC phone charger right now (output rated at 5V / 1000mA) and it seems to be working just fine. A standard computer USB port will usually only provide up to 500mA which means it will take longer for a full charge.
The nice thing about devices capable of charging via USB cable is that you can (most of the time) use just about any charger with a compatible USB cable or a USB A-port and a data cable (including car chargers). Devices are usually equipped with smart charging circuitry that will only draw as much current as is needed for the battery. I've been swapping chargers this way for multiple devices (mobile phones, GPS devices, external photo storage) for a few years now with no issues.
