Eh, it could be worse.

Maybe you made a pricey impulse buy, but on the other hand you started reading immediately, and have apparently been enjoying a big chunk of what you've read thus far.

It seems like you're generally satisfied with the quality and entertainment value of your purchase, even if not the particular circumstances under which was acquired. And perhaps it may lead to your wishlisting a new favourite author to wait for the discount sales upon now that you know they're worth getting.

I'd consider this a break-even fall-and-rebound situation. You are after all getting your money's worth from a book you are not putting off reading into an indefinite later in the ever-growing TBR pile like a lot of the rest of us are.
