Oh your welcome. I figure if one old lady can't offer to help another, then what is the world coming to??
Mine comes tomorrow!!! I'm a serious computer geek and have been since I was in my mid 30s, so I'm hoping the learning curve will be close to flat for me.
I'm the one in my neighborhood that gets the phone call that "my computer is dead" or "my network isn't networking" ... and I go over and fix it. I also take care of "my CD player isn't working" and "my cell phone is broken" ... stuff like that.
Side story, when I moved here, I had the house wired for my network. Sixteen nodes set all through the house. Yes, I know there's wireless ... I'm just a fan of wired nets.
So, I get moved in ... and the network isn't working. I pulled all the connections out of the wall, and found out that the electrician who wired it didn't understand about the color coding system for the connections. He had brown hooked up to blue and orange to brown. Just whatever took his fancy. Had to get out my punchdown kit and redo the entire thing. Ahhhhh .... good times.
