Woody's list creation without getting "permission" is unfortunate, however it wasn't malicious by any stretch. If I would have had any idea this would have been an issue with Mobileread I would have stopped it. However, the only person I see "upset" is Nate. I've asked Nate to have the Domain owner contact me in an attempt at an amicable solution, but I suspect Nate doesn't want the owner to see the nastygrams he tried to post on KK (oh.. and the advertisement to join this forum immediately afterwards.. very tacky Nate). I find it interesting I can download all the stuff off this site without even logging in and yet Nate is hurt because "he dosen't know who is downloading". It's prolly an IP thing.
And Elsi.. you mean it bugs you that you didn't read on KK that those links were courtesy of this sacred site?
Does it bug you, per chance, Elsi, that you posted an excerpt from a Yahoo Group which is a violation of Yahoo's TOS without the author/group owner's permission? Well, you won't have to worry about that anymore.
Or how about Nate's frustration about all the "hoarding" costing them money when they openly promote theft of an author's hard earned cash by modifying PID's and defeating DRM? ./scratchhead profusely
In the same light as above, I've written a nice little routine that will batch download (both PC and Kindle.. working on Mac) practically every e-thingie on this site and am disseminating it as I type. I mean, seriously, whats the difference between Mobileread showing folks how to get books for free whilst denying the author their livelyhood and us downloading Mobileread stuff without regard to Mobileread's cost?
Perhaps Mobileread should modify their site so a login is required to download. Welcome to the cutthroat world of e-crap Mobileread... everything was fine as long as it was the other guy that was getting cheated. What comes around, goes around.
