I wonder if Amazon can make Brick and Mortar work. Some of Amazon's biggest fans think B&M is a bad idea, but I think that is because they are big fans or ordering online and getting books via the internet.

But there are a lot of people who really like the bookstore. I think that walking down the aisles and picking up books and looking at them is a superior way to browse books. There are those who will go into a B&M bookstore, browse their books but then buy them on the Kindle. I would feel too uncomfortable doing that. Now, if I was in an Amazon store, I would feel comfortable browsing paper books there, but buying on the Kindle.

B&M would expand Amazon's appeal, and undermine Barnes and Noble. Amazon would have to avoid the pitfall of becoming a big box dinosaur.
