Well, I've searched through five random html "books" using the "find" feature of microsoft Word, but cannot find xmlns (I assume the third letter is a lower case L).

I installed version 8.38, but no help.

Any chance I can uninstall Calibre and then find the version before 8.37 since whatever earlier version I had before converts the html into epub with no problem.
