I live in Bulgaria and I have no problems buying books from Amazon with my Bulgarian address. Granted, I don't own a Kindle yet and I download the books to my Kindle for PC, but I see no reason why Amazon would let me download books to the PC and not to a Kindle. It is strange that you live in a neighbouring country and you have georestrictions imposed.
Barnes and Noble are another story - I can't buy from them even if I provide a legitimate address in USA.
I have been unable to buy a single book from Google so far.
Kobo are OK and I buy most of my books from there. They don't have the selection of books that Amazon has, but still have a lot to offer. Besides, they often give discounts and promo coupons.
BooksOnBoard are also an option, but their prices are usually higher.
You can compromise and buy another reader without a Pearl screen. As long as it uses e-ink, it is still way better for reading than the screen of the computer.
