Then I saw article(s) about Harry Bloom who read 10,000 words per hour in his prime, and has been reduced to 5,000 word per hour now that he has aged. With close to perfect retention. That is humbling.

The timer is back on it's shelf over the stove.

Yikes. I read about a page every two minutes. I read for 45 minutes on bus rides and another half hour before bed. That gets me maybe 40-50 pages in a day at the most.
