Thanks to recommendations over on the Kindle Fire subforum, I picked up an inexpensive stylus - ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...A1WRFIZ3T6ZKWF) and have ended my fingerprints problems. i wasn't sure whether I'd like or not, but it's been great.

And *all* the Space Tyrant books are available as Kindle library free downloads. That said I did pick up the books anyway as the price was right.
