i haven't read the book yet either but i'm willing to give the author the benefit of the doubt and figure he merely set out to write an entertaining novel with some mild cautionary overtones at best/worse (however you look at it), not a 21st century Turner Diaries (i'm getting the impression thats how some are looking at this.)

i'm assuming the author is British and is merely playing out what he sees around him into a worst case scenario. as an american i could write a future history about the unchecked immigration i see and play it out to its conclusion.

like i said i haven't read the book so i could be putting a lot of words into his mouth and if i'm completely off base i apologize. at the very least his novel provoked discussion/controversy which is far more than many authors could hope for.
