I have never read Mr. Ryan's books but he does get you into the story. So far I'm not disappointed.

I read the first of the "The First Law" series a while ago, but I recently picked up books 2 and 3 and decided to re-read book 1 and then continue on with the rest of the series. Definitely not your typical fantasy sword and sorcery story.
