For every hardcover purchaser who buys cheap ebooks once they get an eReader, there will be others like myself who only bought secondhand books for a quarter or got books out of the library or had books passed on to me by friends and family and never bought any new books before getting an eReader. Now the convenience of purchasing ebooks means I've bought more than 50 ebooks in the past year. Sure many of them were $0.99 (I snagged 30 Ed McBain books a couple of weeks ago at that price), but others were as much as $13.
