To be honest, what actually shocked me the most was Boromir's characterisation. He was a lot more valient and honorouble in the book as compared to the movie, which made his fall all the more heart-rending. I couldn't read though that part; it was too painful. But I have to admit, he ended up being my favourite character after reading the book.
It was similar to what happened to me when Eddard Stark in A Game of Thrones died. The rest of the book passed in such a blur that I barely paid attention to what happened, so I'm still a bit iffy on what happened next. I guess I will have to re-read the book. And oh gosh, I was reading about Boromir right after Eddard Stark and now my heart feels pained.
Speaking of Eddard Stark, I'm now on the second book in the Ice and Fire series; A Clash of Kings. So far, it's been really good, and I really want to know what happens next. Will definitely be sticking to this series like glue. I especially want to follow Sansa's storyline; she's my favourite character, and I relate to her the most out of all the characters.
