No, it's not semantics. I'm just addressing the poster's US bias. For example, the Nook may be sold by the millions in one country, but in more than 99% of all countries in the world they are not even a minor player - they do not play at all.
"Because they don't deliver": you have a point there! But I don't see why a major player's interest would be a guarantee for better features.
In particular Pocketbook has lots of features in their firmware that none of the 'major players' ever thought of. Onyx firmware is also relatively rich. I do agree that they managed to miss some important features that are relevant in particular on large screen readers. But the equation 'major player = more/better features' just is not true.
