3D programs are getting better all the time though they aren't quite up to photo realistic quite yet. They still seem too perfect I think is the problem. Real skin has imperfections and real faces aren't totally symmetrical but a lot of 3d characters are which leaves them short of looking quite right. And with all new things there is some resistance to acceptance. Not everyone accepts ebooks, and not everyone accepted TV when it came on the scene. 3D is no different. To each their own I say.
